EduSWIT Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 What phones systems are you all using? We use FreePBX for the moment but looking at 3CX to replace FreePBX... although I heard Unifi Talk could be coming to the UK very soon, it is worth holding out...? What are your thoughts?

HarkNowHear Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 I was looking at 3CX but Trust is moving to Teams for telephony so I'm now trying to push ahead with that to try and get my sites away from Avaya/ISDN hell.

Have done for a while, it was very expensive to host in the cloud when we moved. I need to look at cloud hosted properly as it would be better there. I know some companies will do it for you and the price for that has dropped a lot. Might be better to cut out the middle man and host in Azure.
johnlevis Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 We've supplied 3CX into a number of schools now, most host on a local vm, a couple host in Azure. We can offer any combination of licence/handsets (although the desktop and mobile apps are free)/SIP trunks/configuration/support. Feel free to give me a shout if you need any more information John 1
Cat_Jam148 Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 Recently switched over to a locally hosted 3CX - couldn't be happier! Looked into cloud hosted but it was far too much of an ongoing expense. I recommend the training courses that 3CX offer for free, each one covers the PBX in detail and was very helpful.
supportman Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 (edited) We're actually just moving to teams, seems quite good but licenenses are an ongoing cost. Its not massive if you share phones though for example in departments. Last thing I wanted to do was have another onsite server. Edited September 24, 2021 by supportman
