So yes, as suspected it's basically using school email addresses as member lists.

 

Yeah, we shall be keeping discord emails blocked now then!

Started OK then went downhill completely failing to recognise school safeguarding needs.

Thanks for sharing that. It paints a picture of an incomplete feature (not too surprising, in fairness), so I feel justified in erring on the side of caution here and keeping the Discord emails in quarantine. I do wonder if this is a mechanism which will be copied by other platforms.
