So

I have an issue that our academic year has not been promoted properly (not anyone's fault, rather an issue of not having the correct training). I'm not really a SIMS person so go easy!

The situation is this. I can see all students are in the right courses on the curriculum academic structure by scheme.

However, when I go to course manager and the post 16 programme of study, the TT hours and the Qual hours and the planned end are all completely blank. We have a similar issue with year 12 and all other year groups where no courses are showing despite them showing in the academic structure.

I know that the timetable wasn't promoted correctly and I'm pretty certain that we need to promote it again.

My question is this. Can we promote the timetable now, or will that cause huge issues? Will it mean that we lose all the information in the academic structure? Will it remove new students weve added at the start of the year?

I know we need to promote again, but I fear the consequences of doing so.

Help!

First thing to do is to run Updates course memberships from the Tools>Academic Management>Course Management route.

See if this makes any difference to your courses before you so anything more radical. All academic promotion really does is tells SIMS where you can use the Curriulum Promotion Wizard on the Acadmic Management screen - if all students are in the correct groups then there is no point in doing this now.

Do you use NovaT for your timetable ?

If so, do you know if the course levels were set when the timetable was first imported ?

Thanks

I will give that a try.

We do use Nova T, but have not change the way it is set up, so I'm happy this will have been ok (or the same as previous years anyway).

My issue now is that when I go into Post 16 programme of study, no student is showing their programme type, start date, planned end or status. And as a result im showing no timetabled hours

Surely there must be a way roll this on from year 12 into year 13. And how do I automatically populate this in year 12?

Students do have linked courses in year 12, but some students are not showing in staff linked classes (some of our new students in year 12, but not all). This is odd as they are correct in the academic structure and they are correct on registers.
