Paxton Wiring Confusion

Morning,

 

 

 

I am trying to wire up a net 2 controller to a mag lock and break glass box

 

 

 

 

I have Com, NC and NO on my Box

 

 

+v

-v

NC

COM

NO

 

 

 

 

on my lock

 

 

 

 

Based on paxton wiring diagram I have tried the Following

 

 

 

 

12v controller - NC on box - 12v on lock 0v on lock to Com on Box to com on Controller with relay from 0v to NC

 

 

this makes it so that my controller wont power on

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have also tried

 

 

 

 

Relay from 12 v to Com on controller

 

 

NC on controller to Common on Box - NC glass to Positive on lock - 0v lock to 0v on controller

 

 

this powers on but wont give power to the mag lock

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Can anyone offer me any advice on this please

First you need to bring either 12V positive or negative from the power supply to the COM on relay one on the controller. NC is normally closed which means 'ON' when the door should be locked, which is what you want for a mag lock. So if you have 12V positive at your COM on your controller, your mag lock negative goes to the break glass and then back to 12V negative on the power supply.

 

This is important as your break glass must disconnect the mag lock for safety, even if the controller has failed.

12v negative on maglock to to Com on Break glass to 12v negative on Power supply

[smash Glass] COM to [Mag Lock] -V,

 

[Paxton Controller] 24v to [Mag Lock] =V,

Extra if your Mag Lock supports it:

[Paxton Controller] Read Switch (Pin 4 and 5 from bottom right) to [Mag Lock] COM and NC
