Hi,

I'm trying to get a Virtual box to be able to access the internet to sign into VS 2019 but I don't want it to be able to speak with the host PC other than there mapped home drive or the domain. I've tried playing around in the firewall of the host machine to try to prevent access to the domain but can't get it to work how I want.

The VMs will be put on student PCs so preventing them from being able to access anything other than the internet and there home drive which will be mapped in is crucial.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?

Thanks,

You can use Shared Folders to allow them to access their home drives without it needing to be on the domain. This maintains their permissions and disk quota for example. I'm not too sure how you could let them sign into VS without opening anything else up.

I've managed to do the Shared home drive fine, its just the other bit about letting it see the internet but not the entire network that I'm stuck on.
