Just one to be mindful of, we have had some students create fake profiles in the name of teaching staff. When confronted they said they did it and there was no verification required.

 

On the snapchat IOS app you can sign up as anyone using email instead of phone number and there is no verification of the email at all.

 

I have reported this to snapchat but i am astounded they don't verify email accounts.

That is actually really surprising.

 

I'll keep that in mind considering some of the requests i get involving Snapchat....

This is why I have profiles on a lot of those sites using my personal and work email addresses, so others can't do it.

 

The non-verification thing happens surprisingly often. Someone created a Paypal account against one of my email addresses and then used it fraudulently.

Well I recently took over the Microsoft account that was being ran by someone else, using my personal Gmail account email address as the login address.

 

So, yes. Most companies seem to have this issue.
