Windows Firewall - Private profile question - merge local settings with GPO settings?

I am in the process of enabling the firewall on all my local computers, as an added layer of defence, our LA control the main firewall.

 

For staff that take their laptops home there is an option in GPO to merge the local (Private Profile) firewall rules with any GPO rules. Do you have merge enabled?

 

Out of interest, would you ever merge the domain profile? I assume not but thought I had better check.

 

Any advice about setting up the firewall on laptops that will go home?
