Possibly one for @webman or anyone else who could help.

We currently have a classroom bookings system installed on a 2019 Windows Server running with WAMP 2.0, PHP version 5.2.9 and apache 2.2.11.

Our version of Classroom Bookings is.. well i'm unsure. I think it's a release of v1.

I'm looking to add the LDAP authentication as it will make our lives so much easier but unsure where to actually start with it all.

EDIT - Nevermind, i've read the documentation

:D

I'd recommend upgrading the PHP version first, as it's very old and unsupported now. Then following the steps to upgrade v1 to v2 (if it is v1 you have - the version number should be displayed at the bottom of every page).

There was a thread on here recently about which LDAP settings to use as well, which you may find helpful when you get to that step.

Yes, should be fine, but please choose MySQL 5 if given the option.

MySQL 8 introduced a new password storage/authentication method, which is only supported from PHP 7.4, and this isn't yet fully tested/supported by classroombookings.

Question - where do i find the HOSTNAME when going through the install of Classroombookings.

I've decide to start a fresh with the latest build of V2.

The hostname it asks for is the hostname (or IP address) of the MySQL server. Usually you can use localhost or 127.0.0.1 if MySQL is installed on the same server as the web server.

Found out what it was, the instructions are written using MariaDB which i used to create the databases. Using MySQL to create the databases worked instead.
