Im struggling to understand the new licensing model for Autodesk- we previous had the free site license but we now need to apply for per user?

How are you deploying this now?

Sorry if what I am asking is obvious but Autodesk support dont seem to know anything about their own products!

As far as I know you only need to sign up as an educator/IT tech and then you get the class/lab Admin Install exe.

Then all the teachers and pupils create there own accounts to sign in with.

You will have to update the software 2/3 time a year. I’ve just done our DT labs.

Oh, and since December autodesk may require the teacher to setup the template with letter head for the pupils to upload as verification. Really crap method as most modern software can just detect the TLD of an education email address like ac.uk or others.

You have to take out 1 year subscriptions now. Be aware that you must renew these within 60 days of the expiry or you will have to apply for a new subscription. This stung me massively last year, If you deploy all you software in one image like we do. We had to apply and wait for new subscriptions for all of our Autodesk suite to come through before downloading and installing the new software with new serial numbers. As you know Autodesk software isnt small

Going through this now- now have network licensing manager working deploying Autodesk as an application in MDT. So many hoops you need to jump through with very lacking documentation and support. Free I suppose so shouldn't complain too much :)
