Hi there! New here, and pretty new to the world of ed-tech too, so apologies for any ridiculous questions.

First one for you though is about a company called Pappaya (yes, that is how they spell the company name… with an extra 'p'). Anyway, I had been approached by them, and they claim to have their own MIS deployed to over 40,000 schools globally. Seems funny that a search on this forum brings up zero about them.

I have done a bit of digging online about the company. It appears the director was called out on some dodgy dealings with a government entity in Scotland some time back. Registered company HQ is a Regus office in Staines… sorry, Staines-upon-Thames. I am getting a bad vibe about them, hence reaching out to see if anyone else has had dealings with them.

Thanks,

Honestly never heard of them, but every bit of their website screams "Don't trust us" to me.

The fact you said they said 40k+ schools, yet their own website has a different number "Pappaya ERP is being used across 80,000+ schools across the globe."

Their two big "case studies" of schools have no case study at all, aren't linked to any MIS work, and no reference from any of those schools apart from what pappaya are saying

Their own website suggest it's classroom management software, not a MIS (and at different stages suggest its facility management or ERP etc, as in one thing that's just got bolted on left right and centre)

Even trying to click on their "member login" brings up errors :p

Their global award title only seems to exist on their own website, and nowhere else in the world even on the "providers" site

And that's only from a quick 5 min look at it

Steve

One owner, one director, no significant shares, no accounts to speak of, pigeon english at best on the website. Avoid them like the plague, it takes 5 minutes to debunk pretty much all the figures.
