FN-GM Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 (edited) Hello, We redirect the documents folder to the H Drive. It works well. We do not redirect the Desktop but no matter how many times we say it people store documents their. So I am looking to redirect it just so we get a backup. I am thinking redirecting it to a sub folder of the H drive. But this is short term. At some point (not just yet) I would like to enable Known Folders to migrate everyone's H Drive to OneDrive. Considering I know this is coming up - what is the best strategy in the temporary redirect to the H drive please? It's a shame we can't use the known folders group policy settings for just the desktop! Thanks Edited February 16, 2021 by FN-GM
Michael Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 I do exactly that for some users - redirect their Desktop so it's a subfolder of Documents using GPO.
Zammo Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 In the past I have redirected and then set a quota of a few Mb That way people can still add shortcuts or drag the odd doc on there but it doesnt fill up with rubbish
FN-GM Posted February 16, 2021 Author Posted February 16, 2021 The issue is keeping the desktops alive when we move to the OneDrive known folders. It needs to be as seamless as possible. If I can get it right full day one it should make life easier in the long run.
