Jawloms Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 OK, so thanks in no small part to @chaplic I now have a few migrated test mailboxes up in O365 and can send email between my on-prem, O365, and external all fine. However! (There's always a 'however') We use @DebEnhamhigh.co.uk for emails. We once upon a time well before me used @DebEnhamhighschool.suffolk.sch.uk. Emails sent from O365 accounts to on=prem show they were sent from the @DebEnhamhighschool.sch.uk" but when sending externally they show the correct @DebEnhamhigh.co.uk" address. In AD against the account, the "Email:" field had the @DebEnhamhigh.co.uk" address in it before I migrated the account. Once the migration has completed it shows the @DebEnhamhighschool.suffolk.sch.uk" address. It also added that address to the "proxyAddresses" field. Can I just change the address in the Email field or will that break stuff? I can't see the @DebEnhamhighschool.suffolk.sch.uk" address referenced anywhere on the O365 account, or the O365 mailbox properties.
Steve21 Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Honestly got a bit lost in regards to which you actually want to use, but on the proxyaddresses you can add multiple, the one labelled with SMTP: (capitals) will be the one that shows/sends from, smtp: (lower) are secondary alias addresses Steve 1
Jawloms Posted February 12, 2021 Author Posted February 12, 2021 I changed the proxyAddress of the address I want to use in to capitals and now it works! Now to script this for everyone........
bknaggs Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 If you don't want to script it... https://wisedataman.com/bulkadusers
Jawloms Posted February 12, 2021 Author Posted February 12, 2021 If you don't want to script it... https://wisedataman.com/bulkadusers The opening screen shot of that doesn't show an "Attributes" tab, and I need to modify the proxyAddresses. Will it do those? I can't see it does.
bknaggs Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Yes it does. Get your users first Once they are showing you can open the Bulk Modify screen (to the left of the export options) where the Other tab gives you access to the Attributes. 1
Jawloms Posted February 12, 2021 Author Posted February 12, 2021 I'll take a look, thanks. But after half term now.......
