Hi

We used to access our emails from anywhere in the world using our static ip liek this http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx/exchange

We have just changed isp to Be so our static ip & router has changed as well.

Our exchange server is not working now and I can't get any settings from the old router as no one seems to know the password for it :(

All I can tell you is that the only way I can access the exchage server at the moment is by using http://192.168.1.200 from within the network

Does anyone know what settings I have to enter into the new router to make our exchange server work again?

Thanks

Ok so you don’t know the password for the router?

Basically your router needs reconfiguring to point the ports of the new public ip address to your server.

What make and model is the router?

No one knows the password for the old router and it's not the default password either.

Our new router is a Bebox which is a rebranded THOMSON TG576v7

I can get to the port forwarding page on this router but i'm not sure what ports i shoud be forwarding to what ip?

Thanks

Use the same ports as before and forward them onto the IP of the exchange server.

I would setup a DNS entry on your domain name, so you don't have to remember the public ip. You could use something like mail.company.com

This is the problem I have. I don't know what ports were used before as I can't access the old router.

Ah silly me

right was you using https or http for the webmail?

of the top of my head if you was using http you will need to forward port 80 & 25 if https 445 and 25. i will double check in a mo

My router is being a pig at the moment so i can't check but im 99% sure that’s right. Do you use POP3 or anything else with this setup?

These are the only two that you should need to access webmail:

HTTP is port 80

HTTPS is port 443

If your email is delivered strait to your exchange server then you will need to add:

SMTP port 25

so that external mail servers can contact your exchange server to inform it of new email.

If the staff use any other applications to get their email remotely like Outlook Express/Windows Mail then you may need to open up:

POP3 port 110

IMAP port 143

These all need to be pointed at the internal IP address of your Exchange server to get everything back up and running.
