I'm well into our move to a serverless school. All data is in the cloud and i have a working staff set of policies and software deployment.

I've started contract moves to cloud services for MIS etc

I'm just starting on the policies that i'm going to be using for the student devices. I'm a bit lost on where to start :)

Does anyone have any tips and must dos here?

I can see theres a shared device policy and an education setting but i don't get what that is yet.

Is it just a case of going through every policy and setting and enabling what sounds right here and there.

I found with the staff policies trying to match it to what I have set through AD GPO wasn't the best approach.

slightly off topic but do who do you license windows 10? Do i still need to run the old OPEN licensing and license windows 10 along side my A3?

I'm still struggling with the student part of using intune but my staff one is now going well :)

So far i have pacakaged my last bits of software and make a few mistakes here and there.

I found the shared PC settings also disable onedrive!!!

Just working on the start menu settings. I'm just trying to figure out if all policies can go on the user log in so i can avoid device restrictions

Is theres anyone reading this thats ahead any help or pointers would be great

Have a look at the policy CSPs as not everything can be set for users. Here's the Start CSP that has some settings that can be applied to users and some that can only be set per device: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/client-management/mdm/policy-csp-start

Thanks I found this video

it explained the process of CSP. I'll try looking for the policy i want in the ui and if i can't find it i'll create a csp for it.

So far all i've managed to do up to this point is waste my time :D
