iPad charging and storage

We looking how other schools store and charge their iPads. We have 32 iPads still in boxes and looking to buying another 32 sometime soon. At a previous school we used small cabinets which held 10 iPads each and seem to remember these cabinets cost £500 each.

 

Are charging trolleys the way forward or would we be better building some sort of racking?

This will depend on whether you want sets of iPads to be readily available for students to use in class, much better to have a small number permanently based in the classroom than a complicated booking system. It also helps to ensure iPads are charged ready to be used than stuck in a trolley that's not been plugged in.

Never had an issue with them. As has been mentioned above, it depends how you want to use them. We are a primary school and laid out in blocks of 2 or 4 classes, so a trolley between them works really well, doesn't need any booking system etc. 1 or 2 trolleys shared between a whole school can become trickier to manage.

At the moment we are just starting with iPads and looking to have two class sets, one for KS1 and another for KS2. There may be more at a later date but I don't think that will be this year.
