Yes you do have to enable Less Secure Apps for that. When your helpdesk only supports POP or IMAP we have no choice TBF Just trying to work out where our issue lies. Seems it is DNS

Seems it is DNS Run a mail log search, it will show the send and why it was blocked - usually helps with tracking things down. If you know the IP of your helpdesk you can also setup SMTP relay to accept mail from it with no auth/etc

LSA can then be left disabled. The app-specific password can't be used for general logins, just for mail protocols.
free780 Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 Does G-Mail support oauth with IMAP? Just an idea. Microsoft were going to block IMAP connections to Office 365 at one point.

But they had committed to overhauling those protocols from memory well the ones that people really care about (SMTP, IMAP I don't think that POP made the cut!) to support Oauth.....
