mark100 Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 (edited) Hi Has anyone had a request to block chat between two students on Teams (safeguarding)? The only control I can find is to turn off chat altogether in the Teams policy for the two students, but this then affects their interaction with other students and teams in general. Has anyone found a granular solution the would limit communication just between two users? Edited January 21, 2021 by mark100
stm-tech Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 Hi Unfortunately you cant block chat between two pupils. What you can do is create a policy in Teams that disables CHAT, then add a security group that policy should apply to. However this blocks ALL chat for that pupil. They will just then switch to another wayto abuse. Like e-mail. Rather than a policy or a switch, use education and disciplinary procedures against the abuser. 1
mark100 Posted January 21, 2021 Author Posted January 21, 2021 Chat in a team, or Chat outside of a team? Would be both
psydii Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 It depends on circumstance. But perhaps if one of the students is onside they could mute the other?
mavhc Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Would be both Outside of a team, in the chat tab, it's just disable or enable. Inside a team it's per channel
gabororsi Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 There is a new settings in Teams now: Sadly it's not visible for me, yet
