When the teacher selects HDMI 1 on the Smart TV the TV displays a smartsupport screen flashing on and off constantly. They have turned it on and off and tried another laptop Any ideas?

Try a short HDMI cable connected directly from the computer to the screen, to see if it is a fault on the screen itself. Also try connecting to HDMI 3 if it has one, sometimes the signal quality differs between ports even with the same cable 1
