IT_Man_Dan Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 Do you redirect your users AppData folder? I currently redirect all folders except for AppData but am looking into the pros and cons of doing this too and would like some feedback please. Many thanks
mdrabble Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 I did redirect the AppData folder but when we installed Teams App on machines, the AppData folder suddenly grew in size due to Teams App caching files and no visible way of controlling it. Have removed the redirection for the time being to see if that helps things.
robyholmes Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 Had to many problems redirecting App Data so gave up. Microsoft don't recommend it now, look in to UEV. Works well here.
Davit2005 Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 You should be able to exclude certain folders. We had to do this a few years ago at a previous employment because staff were using itunes and backing up phones. I cannot remember where the settings are off my head, too long ago.
robk Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 I used to do this, but with laptops and off site working it caused more problems than it solved. Turned off in Sept. What problem are you wanting to solve turning it on?
