Hey guys,

Hope you can help.

Our Computing department are using a variety of software to allow the sixth formers to complete projects for their course. They have to demonstrate various skills etc. etc.

One student is using Unity to build a game.

However, she somehow managed to save the project to C:\users\%username%\UnityTest and any and all attempts I've made to move the project to \\%projectserver%\Projects\%username% have resulted in blank, empty projects being loaded.

I've been looking for solutions. I followed the guidance here: https://answers.unity.com/questions/273912/moving-the-project.html without success.

Does anyone know how I can convince this project to move, to look for it's assets and scripts and entire project in a mapped drive, rather than in the C Drive?

At the moment she can only do her project on one computer and as such her time is limited and the project is vulnerable. (To illustrate the point, someone smashed the screen of a neighbouring computer last night!)

Any help you guys can give would be gratefully received. All the "helpful" documentation I can find is all "don't start here".

I think what I really want is a way to modify the original project, move all the assets to the Network share and re-save the project to a different location, but that doesn't seem possible?

Quick update, as an experiment, I tried to open the project from another using a UNC path (\\STATIONNAME\C$\%username%\etc. etc.)

Unity helpfully created a new folder in my C drive: C:\STATIONNAME\c$\Users\Username\UnityTest\programmingProject\Assets

I mean, what am I supposed to do with that?

Ugh, absolutely classic. Hours working on this, trying to get it to work and...

Unity hates UNC paths.

The account I was using was a Sysadmin so I could access C:\users etc. it didn't have the Projects Share mapped.

I mapped it, opened the project in K:\ rather than \\servername\Projects and it worked.

Great. Anyway, I hope this helps someone else!
