victory2012 Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 (edited) Help please! All of a suddent students are able to reply to staff posts in all class teams! even though we have the setting on the prevent them posting and "Only owners can post messages" they are still able too.. has anyone any idea why and if so how do i turn it off? this has happened from today or sometime this week Edited November 26, 2020 by victory2012
Boredguy Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 If it is in the general channel, this should not be happening if the channel setting is set to Only owners can post.. users can react but thats all. If it's in another channel created within the team, then the channel can have moderation permission enabled so only owners can create posts, but other members *can* reply to that post, but not create a new conversation. It does not have the same "only owner can post" as the general channel does from the options available. Not tried creating a sub channel via Powershell yet to see if that makes any difference to the ability for only owners to post yet

sister_annex Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 (edited) Best way I've found to mitigate this (and I believe is the advice from MS) is for staff making posts to set replies to 'You and Moderators can reply' Edit: You can also change this setting after the fact if you created the message by selecting the 3 dots next to the message, Clicking Edit and follow the same process above Edited November 26, 2020 by sister_annex additional information 1
