markberry Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Any of you into pizza ovens (Ooni, Roccbox etc)? I've a number of friends who are really into it and a large percentage of them also work in IT! I think it's the logic and science that you get in pizza making that appeals to IT people!
Reboot_IT Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 I'm going to invest in one after the winter. A couple of friends have got an Ooni and they are the best Pizza's I've ever had. The only worry is I'll eat too many and stack the weight on!
bald_pig Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Go big or go home, once I've moved into my own house I'll be building a proper brick pizza oven in the garden!

rom1984 Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 I've got a 57" Weber Kettle with a pizza stone, but never got good results. Bought one of the original Ooni pellet from eBay which is amazing, and looking at getting Ooni Frya @RobD what Kamodo Joe have you got? Been looking at the Joe Jnr too for steaks and one person cooks
TechMonkey Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 One of my fav Youtube cooking guys did He seems excited about it

Surely you’re not up to 450/500° for Neapolitan style pizza It goes up to 260°C without any issue (500°F), they're ceramic so keep the heat really well. Been looking at the Joe Jnr too for steaks and one person cooks I have the classic 2. If I was to buy again though I'd probably go with the classic 3 or even the big joe. I find I use it all the time, even building an outside kitchen for it.
PyROm Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 I have the ooni pellet (version 2 I think), have measured 500c with an infared thermometer pointed at the stone. Pizzas are done in under a minute, turning 1/4 way every 15 seconds.
