POE and access points

I'm about to purchase some Ubiquiti Access points that state:

 

Passive Power over Ethernet (48V), 802.3af/802.3at Supported (Supported Voltage Range: 44 to 57VDC)

 

 

I'm running some oldish Cisco switches, Cisco SG300-28PP

 

 

Im reading conflicting information.

 

Does anyone know whether the POE from these switches will be fine to power the access points?

 

 

I'm a little out of touch with the power standards.

Your switches are PoE Plus (PP at the end of the model) so support 802.3at, they'll be fine with the ubiquiti APs

 

802.3af = PoE

802.3at = PoE+

They will be fine, check here we are running older cisco POE (2960, 3560's) just fine with Ubiquiti kit.

Sorry to jump on board, I am in process of getting quotes to replace Ubiquiti Access points. We have no POE switches and have in past used POE injectors with the first generation APs.

I can use POE injectors with Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-PRO-5 wireless access point 1300 Mbit/s White?

I'd personally recommend you look into PoE Switches, they're not as expensive as they used to be and it tidies things up massively.

 

As long as your PoE Injectors are 802.3af (minimum) & 1Gb, then you'll be fine using those for the UAP-AC-PROs as well.

Just comes down to budget, I didnt know my APs needed replacing but they are coming to end of life come March, so have not budget at the moment for them never mind switches. I will see whats out there

We run about 20 unifi APs pro and AC pro via Cisco SG switches. All work perfectly. Some via POE injectors but most from the switch both .af and .at.
