Hi all,

I am in the process of moving from Xibo to ShowPoint for digital signage. The school it is for, the users are not that IT literate and have found Xibo impossible to a point that I end up doing it, but I am not onsite all the time, as I look after 2 other schools, so want something simple.

To anyone who is or has used ShowPoint how did you setup the PC? Is it better to just be standalone or domain built?

As I know it needs to read the file locally I was going to share a folder from the local C drive, for SLT to upload PPTs.

Any tips would be apppreciated.

Thanks

We just have it with the powerpoint viewer on a domain machine using windows 10 ltsc, in it's own OU so it logs automatically onto a specific display user and starts the app. Have folders on the staff shared area where people can upload their powerpoint.

I wish I had found that a few years back.

Ended up scripting something the checked for new files, stopped the slideshow and started the new one - if the folder was emptied then it would play a default show.

I would have the PC auto login to a user that has the needed programs in the startup folder.
