Hi all, I think I am going mad, we want to synchronize our school calendar hosted onsite with exchange 2016 and outlook 2016 with our school website hosted online, I exported the ICS file and sent them (the hosting/support company) the URL they asked for.

I was under the impression that we could now create an entry in outlook and it would automatically synchronize? but this isn't working surely I don't have to export and resend the ICS after every new calendar entry?

can anyone sanity check my understanding please?

thanks in advance

Sorry Mavhc i have obviously poorly worded this question. I wanted to know if an ICS file synchronized constantly with Outlook, i have since learnt that it is largely down to the software that the ics feeds into, on this ocasion every hour but thanks for your response.

If you give them that url as a feed then yes, it's always up to date. Question is are they continuously syncing it

However you said you exported a file, which would indicate it's a snapshot of the current calendar.

URL generally means your side is updated, file would mean it's not.

Then it depends on their side syncing.
