danirimescu Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 Hi guys. Have Paxton Server installed at one site. I've used port forwarding to get controllers added to server from a 2nd remote site. I have installed the Net2 Client software on one of the client's remote sites but I can't make it see the server. Just trying to port forward the server ip address but I'm not sure which ports are required to be forwarded or if any settings on the server are required to achieve that. I've managed to install the client software on several client's machines but on the same site/network with the server but now I'm trying to establish communication between the server and a client installed on a remote site. Any ideas, much appreciated
FN-GM Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 Have you configured the default gateway in the controllers? I don’t think what you’re doing is a good idea. You will be better off setting up a site to site VPN instead. 1
danirimescu Posted October 24, 2020 Author Posted October 24, 2020 Hi. Yes all IP ACUs have got gateway set. I just want to know what settings are necessary to allow client to talk to server via port forwarding
mavhc Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 With net2 client running on a lan run netstat -a -b -n -o to see what connections it's making, then replicate those ports How will you make sure it's secure?
free780 Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 If Windows Firewall enabled is enabled on the server switch on logging. But really as others have said a proper link or a site to site VPN is much more secure.
Sibrows Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 If your not happy with a VPN have a look at Zero Tier. Used it a lot both personally and professionally. Very happy with it as a solution.
