dibekem Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Hello everyone. I’m having some problem on a windows 10 pc that cannot access certain websites. It comes up saying your connection is not private on Google Chrome or This site is not secure on Microsoft Edge. The sites that I am trying to access are fine on other computers just not on this one. SOme of the website that the user is trying to access are www.cpoms.co.uk and www.strictlyeducation.co.uk. So far, I have tried: Making sure the clock is on time The region is set Drivers up to date Windows is up to date. Any help would be much appreciated
tosh74 Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 On the machines having problems - click through the warning and hit the website. Once there check the certificate chain by clicking on the padlock then select certificate. When the cert window opens check the certification path. compare those results with the working one. You may find that the problem machines are missing an intermediate or root CA from the local cert store. I'm assuming you are not carrying out SSL/TLS Decrypt/Encrypt otherwise I would suggest checking for your proxy decrypt cert is trusted on the local machine 1
dibekem Posted October 6, 2020 Author Posted October 6, 2020 Thank you tosh74! I copied the certificate over for both websites from a working PC and installed it into the trusted root certificate folder and that worked. So easy once you know:) Thank you for your help!
