paulkerton Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 It's not in the list of Additional Google apps currently, so not that I'm aware of. You could block it via your filtering, or add it to the URL blocking blacklist in the user settings however.

This is concerning - given that a primary school student has the ability to access and listen to Joe Rogan podcasts outside of school.

Blacklist the podcasts.google.com URL https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7532419?hl=en It applies to any enrolled or signed-in user. So, if they sign in with their account, they can't access the URL being requested. I will also preface this by saying I haven't got a clue what I'm doing in GSuite! However, I have just tried on a student PC to access 'Podcasts'. Whilst the icon is visible in the app launcher, it returned a message basically saying that the account did not have access. But at least you know somehow it is possible to block! What magical mix of settings does this (and what else it may break) I cannot tell you as we don't really 'use' GSuite as an actual T&L system, we just have Classroom set-up for lockdown/bubble burst homework and pretty much everything else turned off... EDIT: In fact I didn't need to sign on as a student... even I can't access it! Edited October 5, 2020 by Koldov

On the page that says the user does not have acces, there is a 'learn more' link. https://support.google.com/a/answer/7646040 As I looked for the 'podcast' app in the 'Additional Google Services' settings I also came across that message (ours is off), so I'm guessing it comes as part of the apps that cannot be controlled individually? I couldn't find a complete list of which apps are in the 'no off button' section (I seem to end up going round in circles), but I found one with those that do! https://support.google.com/a/answer/181865 Yes, I can get to contacts...
