Hello I’m probs on the top of the list of the who to FIRE list as I’ve not been able to transfer our remote web designs.com domain to another Microsoft 365 domain

explain more what you're trying to do

I am guessing importantdomain.co.uk from blahonline.onmicrosoft.com to foo.onmicrosoft.com?

 

1) Have no user accounts in the tenant using it as a username

2) Some specific enterprise apps may call out the domain (but you will be prompted and simply delete the Azure AD enterprise App and app registration assuming you are content to do so

3) Azure AD portal, custom domains and delete

4) wait a bit, could be 5 mins or 24 hours. Ones I've done recenly has been ten mins

5) add the custoom domain to the new portal and be prepared to register a flag in DNS to prove you own it.

hmm, I'm reading that more as how to change the main Microsoft account that is associated with the domain, i.e. the account that is the global admin?
