sshabir Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 HI All, Please may I check with a special needs school (UK) on how they work out their (FTE)- Full time equivalent for Microsoft Licensing (OVS-ES and Perpetual licenses) Office 2019 and Windows 10 Any advice is much appreciated. Kindest Regards, Shoaib
mavhc Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 AFAIK the same as every other school, so it make be better to buy outright licences rather than whole school licences. Was about the same for us.
XiJ Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 Indeed we found better to licence a perpetual licence per machine than a whole school license. That’s in an early years setting with lots of staff etc
johnlevis Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 The FTE calculation is for any computer users who work over 200 hours per annum. It may well be best to go with perpetual licencing - we can help with either if you need it. Accura2k7 Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 AFAIK, FTE is based on Knowledge Workers, ie, staff who use technology as part of their main role... Groundworkers, cooks etc are excluded, therefore if you have TA's who are their to support students with personal care etc more than using computers, they would not be classified as a Knowledge Worker, and excluded from the FTE count.

That depends if your on ESS or OVS-ESS, and as the OP has less than 1000 staff, the OVS-ESS calculation of 200 hours is the one to use as per Johns post
