SteveB_NI Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 We have 2 trolleys of laptops not currently in use due to the obvious risk of sharing devices. I’m of the opinion laptops can’t be as easily wiped down as a desktop keyboard and there are more touch points etc on them therefore impractical at the mo. We have got the school split into bubbles and I guess a trolley could be allocated to a bubble but the lack of being able to clean between use concerns me. However - I’m open to suggestions. I hate seeing them sitting not being used but what are you all doing with your laptops at present?

We are using shared laptops, each laptop has a number and students are allocated that number so it can be traced if needed. All students wipe down the laptop at beginning and end of lesson.
mrstrong Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 @hardtailstar What are you using to wipe down the laptops please ? Also was there any discussion about who should be doing the wiping, e.g. were you asked to do it initially? I work in primary so may find it harder to argue pupils should be doing it.

It was a SLT decision for students to wipe down laptops/computers before and after. Maybe you could work it as a way of looking after the equipment for the older ones? 1
