[sims] Sims Teacher App Vs. Alternatives

Hi All,

 

I've been asked to investigate a way of getting cloud access to SIMS before SIMS Secondary goes live -

 

I am a big fan of vanilla, so I suggested the SIMS Teacher app, but wanted to get some realtime feedback from actual users.

 

Or, does anyone know of any alternatives that allow SIMS access over the cloud?

 

We have Go4Schools, however this is for deep access like MIS managers, SLT etc.

See ironically I scrapped that server farm when I started - Too unsecure

 

Plus with the remote access route I'm still pestered to buy machines; I'd rather an 'app' as that's lingo they can get behind!

Recommended? haven't tried it, but everything I've seen on here would make me start looking for a new job before recommending it...

 

Use it as an opportunity to recommend ditching SIMS. In the interim look at other products which give access to the data you need. SIMS teacher app may do that and might be the best fit - I would just prefer not to give Capita more money to cover for the fact their product is no longer fit for purpose of I could find something that fits the requirement.

Really get a new native cloud MIS, sims is horribly outdated.
