[sims] InTouch in RDS

We have just set up a new RDS Farm and have SIMS running reasonably well. What we are finding is that the editor in InTouch is really lags behind the key presses and frequently prevents text from being edited. Apart from writing the email in Notepad and pasting it in has anyone found a way to speed things up and have it more responsive.

We are having the same issue with Intouch on RDS - anyone with the same issue?

just checked ours and intouch takes an age to load (normal behaviour here) it is fine when typing

InTouch is horribly slow and its graphic design is by the Ladybird people.

No problems with InTouch on RDS here. Even seems to load reasonably quickly. Again server 2019 rds. Is the problem when you access InTouch remotely from offsite? If so then I would suggest trying the performance experience settings in the remote desktop client. It will usually automatically choose optimum settings based on the connection speed. But you can also manually tweak it. Try turning off font smoothing, desktop composition and visual styles for a start, and see if that makes any difference.

We are running on 2019 RDS - we are running over html5 so will try the full client to see if that makes a difference. We went to html5 as intouch caused scaling issues with the full rdp client - it does take a while to load but sometimes you are unable to type. I can load notepad from the same session and all works fine. My only alternative is the full SIMS client on all of our 120 laptops but that causes other issues with upgrades etc.

I completely forgot about this post and should have updated it. We get this problem when we use access it over HTML5. If we download an .rpd file and use it through mstsc InTouch is fine and most other applications feel quicker and more responsive.

 

When we used HTML5 we also had staff reporting that they were clicking on items in SIMS, like the register marks and the wrong items were being ticked, as if the mouse pointer was offset. I could never repeat it for myself, but as soon as we switched them to mstsc so did their problems.

Looks like we are going to have the same - one of the reasons we switched to html5 is to get around the scaling issues. We use 125% DPI on our laptops and initially SIMS is fine but loading intouch messes with the resolution and displays SIMS at 100% DPI.
