Papercut enabled scanner

Hi,

 

Our print contract is up for renewal next year, so I've started looking at printing reports to see if there's any way we can rationalize, especially to reduce the number of big MFDs.

 

There are a couple of target areas with pretty low printing and copying requirements, but (oddly) they're some of the highest users for scan-to-email. So now I'm thinking about some sort of scan-to-email station that would link to papercut the same way the scan function works on the MFDs. Does anyone know if such a thing exists?

 

Bit of a long shot, I know. But I thought I'd ask.

You would need a network scanner of which there are ones out there but not aware of any that are compatible with PaperCut directly even then many are smaller devices (that I've come across) a MFD to me is still best way for bulk scanning, 1 machine for all.

 

If they are in a low end volume area look at a mono machine at say 30 pages per minute, cheaper to run but will still scan. Don't let onto the company that its gonna be used for loads of scanning as they will be loosing out and want to sell you a bigger machine that is more "suitable". Majority of mono machines now scan in colour so win win.

 

Sharp do a range of smaller desktops but have a good ADF but be mindful smaller machines often cost more. Lexmark and HP also integrate into PaperCut but personally I would always go for something like Sharp/Toshiba, known machines, in particular Sharp and Kyocera were first to get integrated scanning with PaperCut.
