Hi

Has anybody set SIMS up to sync with Google ie users and classroom, how hard was it?

Is there any other method we can use for SIMS logging in ie G-suite to login into SIMS without having to pay bundles extra

I see Google keep being mentioned on Hosted Sims literature but SIMS then when I click it get no friendly information just pages and pages of setup info

Hi, yeah we've looked at Salamander, Wonder etc but if Sims can do it and we already have that, then it makes sense if it works to at least give that a go?

As far as I'm aware, SIMS does not have any built in functionality to allow for this which is why software like Salamander exists in the first place.

That's for SIMS ID and not SIMS.net. Are you using Hosted SIMS with Capita? If so, I believe this will work although I don't have much experience with the SaaS version of SIMS.

If you're using on premise version of SIMS.net then this will not work.

Yeah, we're hosted sims, was looking to see if anyone has done it, as I'm always a bit cautious of anything Capita

Nothing is ever straight forward with Capita, emailed them, then got told to email somewhere else, great, I'm guessing five weeks later might get an answer, it's literally the same company why can't they just pass me on internally.

If you are a hosted SIMS Customer you use SIMS ID to login to hosted SIMS.

If you use SIMS ID to provision your Google accounts, then your SIMS ID login and google login are one in the same.

You can self on-board Google using the instructions here: https://id.sims.co.uk/support/wiki/142

As part of this process state you are a hosted SIMS customer, and the SIMS ID team will discuss options around your exisiting hosted usernames.
