Citrix book recommendation

We now have a Citrix 4.5 server running and have a month or so to get the hang of it before we roll it out as a small trial. Can anyone suggest a good book to get us started?

This site is a good resource, although I notice the latest 4.5 book is canceled I suspect most of the info is on the site:

Yes someone else recommended that site so i'll be taking a look. It's sometimes easier to reference a book and i can read it while not sat at a box and they tend to build your knowledge.

 

or am i worrying about nothing and it's pretty straight forward.

Its pretty straightforward. The only thing I can think of in the installation procedure that isn't reversible is the shadowing. IIRC if its installed disabled it can't be enabled later, you probably want to enable it. The defaults are sensible. you'll need a TS license server and a Citrix license server to plug into as well.

The site above has an older (2002) free book for XPFR2. Things haven't changed that much since FR2. Citrix MetaFrame XP, Advanced Technical Design Guide, Including Feature Release 2

It's actually all installed including the licence server so it's more the admin side that i'm looking at. I'll take a look at that link cheers.

Are you running Citrix at the moment?

 

If so can you give me an idea how much the licenceing is after the first year, i'm lead to believe that they are approx £130 per CAL first year then it reduces significantly per year as it's a bit software assurance like. Is this correct?
