Koldov Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Long story short... A teacher needs a laptop screen replaced and I have told them that they need to backup all important files etc... They have replied with how can they do that if they are not at school and I have banned USB sticks! We do have GSuite but only just started using it for Classroom over the school closure and so I am about to tell her to upload her files to Google Drive. Currently this isn't what we do, we are a small school and haven't felt the need to completely jump into GSuite or O365, so we don't use cloud storage for school. I remember back in the day everybody was shouting about security, storage location of their servers, EU privacy regulations etc... Anything I should be concerned about when recommending this?
Ditto Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 If it's all school related, I think it's fine. Do the staff have access to a school network drive as an alternative? I'd be a bit concerned there is no standard backup process if not. 1

Although the servers are backed up regularly (including shared network drives which they will save work to whilst at school) there is no backup process for teacher laptops.
