Help Identifying Plug Socket

First post so please be gentle.

 

We're having trouble Identifying the Plug Socket in the pictures below. We keep accidentally buying plugs far too small for the socket, any help would be much appreciated

 

Edit: The smaller Plug we have bought is a 16Amp Commando Plug

It'll be a codified standard carrying an "IEC" something or other designation, as will all of the wrong ones that you've tried. Try on here as a starting point - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEC_60309

It looks like a standard 16amp commando socket. But if you're struggling to find one big enough, maybe it's a 32 or 63amp socket.

Probably a 32 amp cee-form or commando socket (these things have lots of different names). There should be something written on the outside of the flap or the white part of the socket. It doesn't look big enough to be a 63 A - they are much bigger.

Ceeform plugs / sockets come in many varients. Blue indicates 240v (whereas Red is 415v / 3 phase and Yellow is 110v). The size relates to the amperage, so if you have a 16a plug that's too small for the socket you need a 32a connector (they come in 16a, 32, 63a or 125a. Anything over that uses Powerlock).

 

Please be sure any step down adaptors have sufficient protection (and the cable is suitably sized), I recommend buying an off the shelf adaptor from a company such as Rubber Box or PCE. Something like this might be good for you?

Also - look on the flap of the socket. It should say on there what amperage it is. If you're unsure send us a photo and I'll work it out.
