Onedrive file type blocking by group

Can you block file types by group rather than for all?

 

I've disabled .ini files as we have a shared desktop for students and we get desktop.ini files be created every machine the log into.

Problem is i then can't have some software stored on my onedrive or sharepoint space that has ini files in such as the Adobe suite.

 

It would be useful to be able to block .exe files for students and not staff as well.

 

I've not found anything on the net for this just the standard path to disable a file type globally

I don't know how to do it by group but in the admin centre you can block exe s for everyone Richard

Ok seems like you can only block file types for all and not just a group which is annoying.

 

The issue i'm trying to get around is the desktop.ini file being created in the users onedrive account when they log into a desktop. I'm using a shared desktop for all the students. Is there anyway past this?
