Hey All,

A bit of a random question... I was just wondering what the Cisco Color Codes for Cat5 Sheath are?

I know Data is Blue... how about POE, VOIP, UPLINK???

Cheers

i wasn't aware there was a color code 'standard' for the cabling sheath/jacket , i thought it's up to the individual organisation to define what colours they use for the cabling....

there is a colour coding standard for cross-connect termination fields, that is defined in the 606A standard, but that colur relates to the colour of the termination for identication of the type of cabling i.e HC, TC, connection of common equipment etc at the cross connect. and doesn't specify the colour of the cable to be used. Well, that's what my understanding is, i could be wrong

i know some organisations follow 606A and have their own cable color standard for ease of identification i.e blue for data and white for voice, aswell as colour for the jacks so white for data and orange for voice.
