petben Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 Hello, just installed Cubase Elements 10.5.2 on Win10 2004 and the Steinberg Library Manager does not open for users, it hangs with a rapidly flashing cursor. I can also replicate this trying to open a VSTsound file from one of the Library folders in C:\ProgramData\Steinberg. There is no firewall or filtering or file restrictions in place, but the users are just 'Users' rather than 'Administrators'. The Library Manager opens when logged in as an administrator. Anyone got any ideas? What does the Library Manager or its files actually try and do when opening? Thanks
petben Posted July 8, 2020 Author Posted July 8, 2020 Thanks, installed that but the output is huge, any tips on narrowing it down to the Steinberg Library stuff?
johnathanadams Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 you can filter it, right click on a line with the process you want and click include
petben Posted July 9, 2020 Author Posted July 9, 2020 I have my head around this procman filtering etc but it doesn't run when logged in as a user, it requires admin rights. Right click, run as admin gives same message. The Cubase library works OK as an admin, I need to troubleshoot as a user! Thanks
johnathanadams Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 does procmon as an admin user not see the processes that the normal user is running?
petben Posted July 9, 2020 Author Posted July 9, 2020 from my limited understanding of procman I was hoping to run as a user with the error, see some process or reg change failure and then troubleshoot. I think trying to work out from a working account will be v tricky.
johnathanadams Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 I was thinking you'd log in as student, elevate procmon to admin, and then run steinberg as student user. procmon as admin would be able to monitor student's processes.
petben Posted July 10, 2020 Author Posted July 10, 2020 If I run as admin on procman.exe I get the same ‘you must be an admin’ message
tri_94 Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Hi there did you ever get a solution for this problem? Thanks
