Anyone know where I can source cheap webcams that will do the job and are in stock ?

I got lucky the other day with Argos, managed to buy Microsoft 5 HD-3000's for £19.99 each. I had to place 5 separate orders but they were all delivered to store a few days later.

 

CPC seem to be a good bet although I think their stock due dates have started to slip

We got a load of these https://www.ebuyer.com/981986-fredi-1080p-full-hd-webcam-teams-skype-zoom-compatible-web-cam-full-hd-1080 strange make, but good picture. They aren't the highest build quality, i'd imagine they would normally sell for a lot less, but they were the only thing in stock anywhere when we got them. Out of 18 we got 1 was doa.

It't not branded but I was struggling to find a supplier with anything available in stock for around the £20 mark.
