Hi all, we have two sites still using LGFL's Staffmail. They both have their own domains (one is using it for G Suite). Just starting to think how these schools can move to Office 365.

Would they be able to keep their current staffmail address? If they have to log into Offfice365 with the school's own domain I suppose we'd need to migrate to new e-mail addresses.

Thanks for any pointers.

If the current staffmail address is a domain that you control in terms of you can change the DNS records I would say yes. If not then you will not be able to.

I know that it is possible to migrate from StaffMail to G Suite (I'm presuming Office 365) too. You will need to raise a call with AdEPT Education and there is a fee of about £450 plus £1.50 (or £2 per) mailbox. In terms of keeping their existing email address, they can keep whatever address they have if it your own domain. However, if they are using the [uso]@lgflmail.org then they will need to set up automatic forwarders on StaffMail to Office 365, which is easy to do, but will probably need to be done per user.

Ok, thanks guys. I have two schools, one is using schoolname.borough.sch.uk so I gather they can use that? Its with LGFL.

The other school does have a domain, they use it for Gsuite, but to keep things simple I want to do the same and go for the same format. aprimary.borough.sch.uk this school also uses USOSync.

We have Azure sync running to our main high school tenant. Would the e-mails remain at lgfl or would the mailboxes be hosted at Microsoft?

Just seeing how it could all fit together. Thanks.
