will_bex Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Hi Everyone, I'm trying to configure a mandatory profile for Windows 1909.1 Education. The issue i'm currently having is apps like calculator and photos etc... will not open, when you try to open then they instantly close. The profile has been configured through audit mode and then copied to a sever share. The share on the server has the following permissions: All application packages = full control Authenticated users = read & execute System = full control Administrators = full control When i loaded in the ntuser.dat into regedit i changed the permissions to the following: All application packages = full control Authenticated users = full control System = full control Administrators = full control Within group policy i've set the following policy 'Allow deployment operations in special operations' Enabled Any help would be appreciated!
2097 Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 I tried for a while and couldnt get them to consistently work with mandatory & roaming. In the end i installed the "Classic calculator" and enabled the old photo viewer app via reg. Most UWP apps wont work correctly with unsupported profile types. 1
ticktock Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 Same here, we use local profiles. These work fine until you delete the profiles (which we have to do on pupil machines), the next time the same pupil logs into the machine sometimes the apps work and sometimes they don't. Tried for hours to fix (many hours googling) but gave up and did the same as @2097. 1
will_bex Posted May 19, 2020 Author Posted May 19, 2020 @ticktock @2097 Thanks for the responses, i gave up in the end and went down the local profile route. Shame mandatory profiles don't work well anymore but it is what it is.
