Remove Network (or stop devices being discovered) from file explorer

I have a "my programs tile" in W10 startmenu that contains shortcuts to programs on the network. This works well (or so I thought) until I noticed one of the kids clicking back though the path on the explorer bar to "Network", this then does a network scan and lists all devices (computers, printers etc). I thought it would be and easy fix (but was wrong!), so far I have tried:

1 Setting turn on mapper and responder to disabled

2 Maximum number of active directory searches = 0

3 No computers near me in network location to enabled

4 I got rid of the network locations icon so that's ok

5 And others I have probably forgotten to mention

The network is secure but I'd rather the kids didn't see a list of devices.

It's driving me nuts, any help gratefully appreciated!
