Reporting in Google Classroom

Quick question is there a way of outputting a list of classrooms (a lot are created manually by the teachers) into a CSV for example showing what invite code belongs to which class?

Not sure if you can do it natively but we have Salamander and they do it for us.

I've used the Classroom API to output it - https://developers.google.com/classroom/reference/rest/v1/courses/list - just click execute at the bottom, sign in and it'll output it for you in JSON format.

As pointed out above, GAM will do this for you easily. For classes, GAM will also let you sync a CSV or group with a Classroom membership, so if you can get lists of classes (by form, yeargroup, or however you can output them from your MIS) you can auto-join pupils to classes, no invite code needed.

I download and install on my computer or server

 

Generate a json client file to authorise my GAM

 

Run GAM and start project

 

Then use command line or batch to execute different commands?

Sorry about this, I'm having trouble creating the json file and Oauth (sorry complete newbie at this!)

I have followed the instructions from here:

but the screens on my google admin seems completely different, so fumbled around and stuck at this bit:

 

 

which is nothing like what the instructions advise, any help appreciated, don't want to mess this up!

Once you've got GAM up and running, you'll be amazed at some of the things you can now do.

Would be great for Google to build some interfaces directly inside G Suite Admin for a lot of this stuff, but just today alone I've been able to use GAM to batch 2180 guardian emails to our 1270 students.

Well pleased with it. It's really a useful tool.

 

Got it up and running on my Windows and Chromebook machines. Very pleased with it!
