Hi All,

 

I was wondering as all schools are closed, what other schools are doing regarding how teachers are communicating with pupils, are they doing online classes and how they are doing that, are they using any particular platforms etc. We currently have Office 365 suite which includes share point and MS Teams but have not been used yet.

 

We currently give out homework packs to all the children's.

 

Any advice or tips will be much appreciated.

We are using a combination of Show My Homework, and Google Classroom.

 

Both of these were in use before the closure of the school.

We're using ShowMyHomework and Showbie with our pupils which has been received well, we plan to use Teams and Stream(for video) after the easter break, My sons school have been using Google Classroom very well

 

Teams offers much of the same functionality as Google Classroom but I'm finding that its not as useful once necessary restrictions are in place to stop pupils talking to each other via voice/video/text directly, Pupils can't receive calls or direct messages from staff either.

We are using Show My Homework as the main hub for all work but School has also bought into Kerboodle, Mathswatch and Pixl.

 

The school is using Show My Homework where all the work is uploaded and the students either do the work on it as a quiz, task etc and links to the websites above with stuff to complete.

 

Wouldn't be able to tell you how that is going though.

 

6th form are trialling lessons via Google Meet.

My primaries are using Seesaw ( which is free btw) and Showbie, one primary school has every student in YR2 to YR6 with an iPad using Showbie with the every teacher on an iPad.

 

Both of these, whilst being used by my schools on iOS are completely platform agnostic, they work with Chromebooks, iOS or macOS and Windows
