SIMS ID/ self-onboarding

Im in process to sync data from SIMS to Office 365, i need some expert advice how to match the record from SIMS to O365 as we do not have any unique fileds to map?

 

Only think I think of is to add all students email addresses into their sims records and at the time of self onboarding it may match the correct records?

 

Is there someone already done it?

Do the users exist already in O365? If so where did they come from?

Hi Mavhc yes users already exists on 365, we are on hybrid setup using AD sync.

Did you sync to AD from SIMS? Or were the AD accounts manually created?

We create users manually in AD

I use the sims2ad script I upgraded https://code.google.com/archive/p/sims2ad/downloads

 

It uses the UPN as unique id.

 

email would work, problem would be getting the correct email into sims

Thank you so much for sharing the information, i will have a look at your script.

 

I've already created a excel sheet with all students UPN/Adno and email addresses for now i will have to use the patch to upload email addresses via CSV, in new spring release there is a new easy feature to update bulk email addresses but due to current situation i did not manage to deploy this upgrade.
