Google GAM

Hi all

 

Amidst the chaos of school closure, I have been asked to investigate how to implement GAM for Google Classroom, so that a parent plug in can be implemented?

 

I'm trying to set aside a bit of time to read up, but anyone use GAM here? Ive installed it and it looks like a command line tool...

GAM Is a command line tool yes. I have used it for bulk user manipulation and deleting of an email sent to many people. It uses Python IIRC?

Gam is ok, however remember that its a 3rd party tool so some of the features it has are limited however its got enough to get by, ot's certainly not as feature rich as powershell for office365.

 

I'm presuming you have already looked at the online articles for GAM?

Thanks, yes I have clarified what they wanted and it's adding parent guardian details in bulk:

going to read up on it, I presume I set it on a PC, log into Google Tenant and upload CSV from there...

How did you get on with setting up GAM as we're also in the process of using it for bulk addition of parents email's as Google Guardians.

You possibly want to install GAMADV-XTD3 - I'm not quite sure what the difference is between the original and branched version now, but we're using GAM-ADV-XTD3 and all seems to be working okay.

 

We've set up a dedicated server instance to run GAM, Salamander and our own set of scripts. Handily, Server 2019 now supports SSH, so we can SSH into our server to use GAM from the command line.
