Manny-Tech Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 I have recently configured Teams in my environment but I can't seem to get the 'Sync' button when browsing files on a channel. I configured Teams at a Primary school I support and the sync button is present - not sure what I'm missing. I am signed into OneDrive on my machine, I can access the sync button through SharePoint, just convenient having it within Teams rather than going the extra hop.

We're in the same boat here. Teams isn't showing the new 'SharePoint Experience' on the files tab. The road map says it's been released but we're not seeing it. I might open a support ticket this week for it. You might want to do the same.
tapb Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 I've got the new Files Experience on a number of my tenants. Are you accessing Teams via the browser or the app? You may need to update the app or refresh the browser? Which browser are you using? Click Profile circle in top right -> Check for updates

Click Profile circle in top right -> Check for updates The browser and app are both the older files experience and this is across our entire tenancy. I've check the app version and its dated 23/03/2020 V1.3.00.3564

I'm pretty sure my account is on targeted release but I'll check. However I thought they only set them to 'Launched' once the roll out was complete. So I took it it was fully rolled out. I have a support case open but not heard anything yet. 1

I've logged it with Microsoft too but I'm fairly sure they have bigger priorities than a sync button at the moment. That being said, I can't work out why one of my tenancies has it and the other doesn't! Keep me posted if you hear anything. 1
Manny-Tech Posted April 1, 2020 Author Posted April 1, 2020 @robyholmes have you heard anything from Microsoft yet? I've had a few phone calls with them, they seem to be unsure why we don't have the sync button. Still awaiting a fix. - - - Updated - - - @robyholmes have you heard anything from Microsoft yet? Sounds like you've got further.
robyholmes Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 @Manny-Tech I've heard back from Microsoft with the following: Thank you for throwing more light to this. I have been able to consult further on this and was informed the process is still on going. The update haven't been effected to some tenants and we are working on it. Kindly be patient with us and this will be implemented for your organization soon. 1
Manny-Tech Posted April 7, 2020 Author Posted April 7, 2020 @Manny-Tech I've heard back from Microsoft with the following: That's reassuring to know. I've still got a Microsoft engineer on it - see if he comes back with the same outcome. 1
Manny-Tech Posted April 23, 2020 Author Posted April 23, 2020 @robyholmes - finally had a response and looks like I'm sorted. Log into your Admin Center > SharePoint Admin Center > Settings > Classic Settings Page (down at the bottom). Change the below settings: One Drive Sync Button - Start the new client Sync Client for SharePoint - Start the new client The above can take 24 hours to reflect the change, I tried the below after 3 hours and it worked and I now have the sync button. Once you've performed the about, quit out of Teams, browse to %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams and either delete or rename the IndexedDB folder. I renamed it to IndexedDB.old. Let me know how you get on. 1

I've changed the sync client setting (It was on the old client for SharePoint) so I'll leave it to this afternoon and reset Teams. Fingers crossed! Well done getting this out of Microsoft.

I forgot to rename the file until your message this morning. Just done it now and its working! Thank you. Do you know if this folder will be replaced / re-created overtime or after an update? I'd rather not have to delete or rename it on all my staff and students accounts.

From what I'm told, that is a quick fix to clear the cache. Over time when the policies refresh on the client it will auto-enable itself. I asked Microsoft the very same question, I didn't want to be doing that for 40 odd staff members. 1
